Andy Wirth is best known for his position as the CEO of Squaw Valley Ski, but there is more to this man than just his love of skiing and his keen business acumen which has made him a very successful man. He is a multi-faceted individual who pursues not only a wide range of professional interests but a great many personal and philanthropic ones as well.

Andy Wirth is one of the most successful CEOs in the highly competitive and lucrative mountain resort industry but that has not prevented him from taking on additional challenges such as the founding of the Wounded Warrior Support Ironman Team which raises money for the Navy SEAL Foundation, tackling numerous environmental projects and community improvement programs and most recently taking on the challenging role of

One of his first projects was to undertake the establishment of air service between Reno-Tahoe and JFK International via Jet Blue. He stated at the time of the deal being closed that it is just the first in a long line of partnerships which will help take advantage of the fact that the Reno-Sparks area and the entire Lake Tahoe region is replete with opportunity.

This is in addition to his recent success in getting the massive expansion plans for Squaw Valley and Alpine Meadows Ski Area approved by the planning commission. This approval which is the final major hurdle before it has to go before the full county commission this fall for approval is a significant one in the path to the future of Squaw Valley. This is just one more bit of proof of his ability to work cohesively with a varied group of parties to get things done that benefit
