Hancock County, Maine — September 15, 2012
A pedestrian died after being struck by a vehicle on Water Street Saturday morning.
According to the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office, 31-year-old Andrew Ray of Deer Isle was walking alongside the roadway around 4:35 a.m. when he was struck by the 2003 Pontiac Aztec driven by his 29-year-old girlfriend Kimberly Phelan also of Deer Isle after a verbal confrontation between the pair. It is unclear if Ms. Phelan intended to strike Mr. Ray or not.

Andy also had more than passion but a family that cherished him,but as well Andy looked up to them as well as they looked up to him.Andy thought the world of his mother Lori, his brother Stephen and his dearest son Tyler. If something bothered them then Andy would be there to help them he wouldn’t let anyone harm his beloved family and friends they meant the world to Andy.Andy was a like a wave of water, a shooting star and a person to rely on when you needed him to be there. He would wipe your tears when you cried, he would laugh to make you cheer up or smile. Andy had a gift to turn something that once was unpleasant into something beautiful.
Andy was very close to me, but I lost him from a terrible accident. It sadden me when I heard that one of my family had died I didn’t only lose a friend but a loving brother.
