Theme: The theme of the book Frindle written by Andrew Clements is about the effect of making up a new word and how it can affect everyone.
Plot summary: Nick Allen is a troublemaker. He likes to make trouble at school. It looks like Nick’s days of mischief making are over, thanks to his strict teacher, Ms. Granger. Nick had to complete a report for Ms Granger and copy thirty five word definitions. He did not like that. Worse he did not like the rule at home, “Homework first.” In giving his report at school he asked his teacher who decides what a word means. She explained to Nick that people decide what a word means. People are the ones who place words in the dictionary. That is when Nick starts to learn how words are created. This inspires Nick to invent a new word. He decided that a pen will no longer be called a pen, but instead it will be called “a Frindle.” Soon Nick’s new word frindle starts spreading around his school and everyone is using his word as their own. Ms Granger did not like that. Parents, school drivers and the school board complained. The principal met with Mr and Mrs.

The story took place at Lincoln Elementary School. The author did not make me feel like I was in the story; however, the main characters are believable because I have a friend like him. My friend Theodore is as mischievous as Nick. He also makes up words for fun for example; he made up the word “abdu” for eraser. The author included pictures which help me know who the characters were, and what they looked like. This also is the reason why I like this writing style where he includes pictures to help me understand. The author also uses funny words in the book. Nick appeared on The Late Show with David Letterman which I know. I can relate to this book as it talks about the things about which I can relate including when Nick stated to figure out how words are put together. For these reasons I like the

The morality of the characters in Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby can be questioned. Rather than merely good or bad, black or white, honest or dishonest, characters are often grey -- neither good nor bad but morally ambiguous. Though Nick Carraway is presented an honest narrator and objective observer who values trust, Nick Carraway, as a character, becomes involved in the moral ambiguity of the wealthy East Coast and inadvertently, he himself assumes some of the faults which he criticizes the other characters for, illistrating that even a fundamentally good character such as Nick can be tainted by the admiration of wealth. Nick’s honesty as a narrator is crucial to the integrity of the novel as a whole.…

I think the book, “Diary of a Wimpy Kid Double down”, written by Jeff Kinney, was an awesome book. The book is about a young kid, like me, who is just learning his common sense and his moral ethics. The book was very entertaining to read as it gives the perspective of a young boy, Greg Heffley, of his not-so-ordinary life. People may think he’s ordinary, but when you get into his everyday life, it gets weird. He has an older brother, which I can relate to, and he’s always trying to get out of work, no matter what.…
