On November 25, 1835, in Dunfermline, Scotland, Andrew Carnegie, who would become one of the richest and most influential men in the world, was born. He led a life that most strive for and are envious of. At the age of thirteen, he and his family relocated to the United States, where he grew up living a modest childhood (“Andrew Carnegie,” Biography). His parents believed strongly in the significance of conventional education. As he continued to age, knowledge grew with him, and he became an adolescent with great intellect. The knowledge he was acquiring, qualified him to get jobs working with the slowly modernizing technology and railways. These jobs then led him in the path of the steel industry, where he would go on to build his own company.
