Andre Amoroso lived a great childhood, he was born in south Philadelphia and there they owned a large house for all seven kids. When Andre turned eleven his family decided to move to their hometown Calabria, Italy. Like most people eighteen-year-olds, it was mandatory to get drafted into the military. Getting the letter in the mail wasn't the happiest thing to find when he came home, at first Andre said “I was upset and miserable at first”. “Every morning I would wake up at 5:30, and we would do warm up exercises around the building and we would march and sing and gather around the flag and sing pledge allegiance” Andre states. “After the pledge, everyone would split into their duties, you would work until lunch and then start training, which consisted of rifles, assault combat, etc.” he …show more content…
There were lots of things that he learned at the military that he can use today, like learning to paint, and that not only helps with adulthood but also with his job. His past jobs were welder, a waiter, olive picker and grape picker. Now to this day, Andre is a construction superintendent, he says that “building things, it makes me feel proud and accomplished when completed”. The feeling of pride started even before having a job it also comes from learning a lot from his 6 other siblings. Andre states that his childhood has “molded me to be the person I am today when you’re a child that’s when you start building character”. Along with growing up of course he has come along knowing what his greatest strengths and weaknesses is in life. Andre says that his greatest weakness is “being a good person and never knowing when to say no”. But Andre feels that his greatest strength of “his passion for what I do and my determination to get things accomplished” has what made him the person he is today and getting to look forward to waking up every morning to his beautiful wife and
