ANDERSONVILLE
Near Andersonville is located the preserves of the former camp Andersonville Prison, also known as the Camp Sumter. The Andersonville prison is the camp of a Confederate prison of war camp,during the time of the American Civil War.The prison was started by a land of 16 ½ of acres in January 1864. Pine logs over 20 feet of length was built in the camp sumter to create an wooden stockade.20 feet line of the stockade was called the “Deadline”.The reason it was called the deadline was because,if any prisoner wanted to cross or climb that line was shot by a guard.In the andersonville prison alomst 13,000 died of sickness,poor sanitation,overcrowding, or even for malnutrition.These prisoners lived in small tents,
