Campbell's Soup Cans

I chose the image of the few of the dalmatian puppies from 101 Dalmatians Disney movie near a dog food can that is very similar in style to Andy Warhol’s Campbell 's soup cans. I chose this image because 101 Dalmatians is one of my favorite Disney films. I also enjoy some of Andy Warhol’s work and his Campbell’s Soup Cans is one of his more famous works.
I found this image is a part of the Disney fine art program. Tricia Buchanan-Benson is the artist of this piece. Many of her works are for Disney and other illustrations works. The image is a parody on Andy Warhol’s Campbell’s Soup Cans. The image also include a pun for having it hit the spot. The piece also using very similar color schemes by having the white and red soup can go with the white and red of the puppies.
The image is very effective at copying the style of Andy’s work. This makes the general audience able to tell that the original work is being matched. There are some difference in line thickness. The artwork

Most everyone knows Disney and will be able to recognize the puppy characters instantly. And most people know Andy Warhol’s work since it first appeared in the early 1960s so the original image that the piece is parodying is still fairly recent and in people 's minds. Also the original image of the Campbell’s Soup Cans is parodying in different ways and is very easy to recognize. Since the 21st century is very used to advertisements being used daily the piece is a perfect portrayal. It shows how used to advertising we are. Included is a parody of a Campbell’s soup can and it even has characters from Disney so essentially the image is very heavily influenced by trying to secretly get you to buy their products. Which Disney themselves are very smart with their marketing so they are able to put their image on anything and get us to buy it. While the image does not have any secret hidden mickey’s it does involved some of their other beloved

It can be printed on a t-shirt, a poster, or placed in a whole new context. For example, the painting can be reworked into another piece of art, but still it remains recognizable. The reproduction of the work can also emphasize the artist’s purpose for painting the picture to begin with. The balanced the lighting of the reproduction make the painting look even flatter than the original, bringing out the painterly…

It is a well-known fact that a company’s image is dependent on whoever their spokesperson is, and by choosing this specific dorky yet admirable narrator, FurKids easily made their way onto the radar of pet owners and animal lovers alike. The narrator repeatedly makes a fool of himself, whether it is through his inability to pronounce “Siamese” correctly, or the terrible puns he makes as the featured cat runs on a hamster-style wheel. These cheap laughs may not be funny to every viewer, but there still remains a large population of animal lovers who appreciate a simple laugh, which can be proved with a single YouTube search about “Funny Cats.” Not only does FurKids play into the humor of their target audience, but they also gain credibility. While this would be false in any other occasion, the lack of professionalism is one of the biggest selling points of this advertisement.…

This ad lacks logos because it provides no factual evidence behind the ads main claim; however, the rhetorical appeal that is used the most is pathos, the appeal to emotion. The music in the background is a key factor in provoking emotion from the audience, it makes them stop whatever they were doing and look up at the TV. At the start of the ad, the first sound that is heard is birds chirping however soon after, as the animal factories are being built, the music holds a very depressing and sorrowful tone. This sudden change of sound already has grasped the audience's attention without even seeing the ad yet, simply by listening to the sounds. Next the ad shows the building of the animal factories and slowly it escalates from a small house for one pig to a city of factories and roads that overtake the concept of nature.…

In my opinion, the little girl represents innocence. Her eyes are clear, and staring straight at you (the viewer). I feel that the artist specifically did that to demonstrate that, innocence is present in each one of us. It’s a way for the artist to remind us that we haven’t lost our innocence, we only forgot about its existence. The green chair represents stability in life, if we have balance in our life, everything else will follow.…

The artwork I chose to write about is a sketch of a 1965 Volkswagen Beetle drawn by Chip Foose. Like always he draws a vehicle before he buids it to give himself an idea on which direction he is going to take. the meaning of the art work is stronger than the actual item. In this episode of Overhaulin was a first for them because for one they never customized a VW Beetle before, but mainly because of the owner of the car they built it for ''Chipfoose.com" Blake, the VW’s owner had had always dreamed of working with Chip Foose on his car so they surprised him at his home the day they picked up the VW. Blake has a debilitating lung disease, cystic fibrosis, has slowed him down at his young age of 25.…

The first image you see is of the man and his horse, a Clydesdale. This is a common horse, well known for being the symbol of Budweiser. The relationship between the man and his horse is also essential to the use of pathos in this commercial -- a relationship many can relate to with their own pet, maybe even their own horse. When the puppy finally gets up and runs out of the stable, you hear the horse neigh. From there, the puppy looks back at him.…

The painting Slow Down Freight Train is a very unique piece both in its style and historical background. Rose Piper, the artist, was a semi-abstract expressionist who was best known for her artwork in the 40’s. Piper was one of only four African-American abstract painters to have a solo exhibit in New York. This showcase, which led to her fame, was a series entitled Blues and Negro Folk Songs and all included pieces were directly linked to blues music or musicians. Slow Down, Freight Train was one of the 14 pieces in the exhibit and it is my belief that this work of art captures the semi-abstract style and then uses its elements to provide the feeling of blues music in a visual way.…

A3 AND B3 13214829 KUM KA WAI In the aftermath of the Revolution, the French public turned to British history as a way of making sense of its recent past, and no French artist of the 19th century was more inspired by English subjects than Paul Delaroche. His monumental work The Execution of Lady Jane Grey was one of the most familiar and enduring images of his time, and remains today among the most popular paintings in the National Gallery. Because of her involvement with the political intrigue that made her queen for nine days when she was only sixteen years old, Grey is one of the best-known women in English history.…

Warhol’s choice of mechanical repetition of this explicit scene continues to dull the alarming content of the image. Silkscreening the newspaper clipping onto the canvas gives it a mechanical tone. Warhol’s choice to silkscreen and repeat may have been to highlight the concept of tragedy that is encountered everyday by people, making it nothing more than just another tragic scene seen in the newspaper. This deprives the disastrous and morbid scene of it’s significance, desensitizing the audience’s reaction in comparison to their initial response. His choice to only print the image twice rather than several times as he had done in Campbell’s Soup Cans could be due to the gruesome content being printed.…
