The beginning of the essay is interesting. The thesis is hard to find, but the introduction is very well written; it gives us a brief description of the part of the body paragraphs making the article quickly noticeable if it would be a good source for someone doing specific research. Susan organizes her essay by having titles on each section and created a visual by putting bar graphs in the essay to show the safe and unsafe abortions in 2003 in more and less developed countries. Graphs are found to be effective because some people, like me, learn easier and find something more interesting to read while having some sort of a visual. She starts her article by informing us of the history of abortion. She tells us the different places and year’s abortion became legal, and in today’s time it is legal in 60% of the world. Under the second heading she then informs us even though abortion has become legal over 60% of the world it doesn’t stop them from happening. Many people go to extremes if they can’t find a doctor to do a legal abortion. In the next heading Toward Legality and Safety she states “even after legalization, more hurdles remain,” meaning even though it is legal developing countries have a hard time finding a sterile place and the procedure itself is almost impossible to afford for a normal
