Today I choose to peruse the site “History of Women in the Ancient World” for my Explorations History links writings. The purpose of this site is teach and tell about the role that women played in the ancient world. Is has link to learn about the role that women played in ancient Judaism. There are many important women in the bible, for instance, there is Rebecca, Ester and other important women. It also has a link to teach us the important role that women played in early Roman history. It has a link to the role women played in Ancient Egypt, and it has a similar link for women’s role in Ancient Greece. It even has links to sites that describe women’s role in history in Islam, so it discusses women’s roles in places like the Middle East. This site to me seems interesting since it describes and tells the stories of women throughout history, and since I am a woman, I found that immensely interesting. The only thing that bothers me about this site is that it has numerous dead links. I would like to find a page on women’s role in history and psychology that was not a dead link. I believe the only other link you have on the site about women was a dead link as well. Overall, this is an interesting page that links to numerous articles, and while a few are dead links, many of the links are fully functioning links, that goes into detail about the role that women play in history. Women’s history is important subject to know, and I have always enjoyed reading about women scientist, and important women throughout history. I actually especially love Nefertiti and her role in ancient Egypt. I wonder how much influence did she have on her husband, and did she influence her husband to believe in only one God, the sun God, or was that her husband’s idea.
