Ancient Rome: The Roman Republic

Ancient Rome started being a Roman Republic, this meant there was not one person whom lead Rome instead they elected representatives to run Rome as a government which gave citizens a voice. This way leadership was thought of to stop an official from being too powerful and over throw the city. The Roman Senate being the main form of government in Rome was set up to appoint representatives, issue currency, and even conduct war. This power allowed the Roman Republic to take action and leadership in the city of Rome. Although Roman Republic was a very powerful and successful government it did have its challenges.
