Ancient roman warfare was a very significant part of their civilisation. The weapons that were used were very inventive and were a large part of their warfare. Five main weapons were used in warfare, and the people also wore armour for protection. (Truman, 2015) A widely used weapon in Roman civilisations was the Gladius sword, which was very sharp and used for quick stabbings. There was also the Pilum which was a throwing spear used to throw at opponents shields and get rid of their defence.
