The historical setting of the novel is during the early and end of the middle ages due to the constant use of weapons. The evidence used by the author is that the weapons during the middle ages evolved over time from pretty powerful and sometimes inaccurate versus very powerful and accurate from long distances. The historical setting of the source is around 650-850 A.D. and up until the Khazar empire was able to retain power. The author uses the evidence of a map to show the controlled places by the Khazars. He also uses evidence that comes from another source, including from a khaqan/leader, and the lands that were ruled by the Khazars are included in many other sources, including my novel. His word choice was advanced and his choices were too complex in some places, which somewhat lost the focus of the paper. The document is created to educate people on the Khazar empire and its religious tolerance of all people. The author’s perspective is that Khazaria contained a lot of power and their conversion to Judaism shaped their empire. This source was reliable due to the author being very experienced in the field of world history and familiar with the occurrence of religious events.
