Lets go back to the ancient Greek times, what happened then with women in sports? There are many theories as to why women could not play sporting event during ancient Greece and most of them have to do with common sense. For example it took about ten months for an athlete to train and a woman probably did not have time for that. Women were also treated as second class people like slaves. Being defeated by a woman would have been bad and the male athlete would be looked down upon and of course they could not have that. It was inappropriate for a man or woman to see each other naked if they were not related, since in the ancient olympic games they competed naked.
