The religious architecture in ancient Greece can heavily be found in the United States, today. Ancient Greece had many stain glassed windows, large crosses, and artistic pictures of gods inside of their religious temples and churches. All of these features are profoundly shown in the churches of the United States, today. A great amount of United States buildings are based off of Greek architecture. This can often be witnessed with many of the political buildings and monuments of the United States. The columns in the form of Ionic, Corinthian, and Doric on many buildings such as, the White House, the Capitol Building, the Lincoln Memorial, the Jefferson Memorial, and many more. Ancient Roman architecture was greatly based off of the ancient Greek architecture. Ancient Greece were the first to start the architecture of buildings with the many forms of columns and even the theatre based buildings. The Romans did not come up with these styles of architecture they just took them and applied them to their own civilization after ancient Greece had already formed these styles of architecture. The government of ancient Greece was much more impactful on to the United States, rather than ancient Rome’s government. Ancient Greece developed the very first direct democracy. Without having this direct democracy, the ancient Romans would have never formed a republic government. Then, the United States would have never been able to have a federal republic. The economy of ancient Greece gave a much more guidance to the economy of the United States, today, compared to any other country. If ancient Greece would have never conducted long distance trade through the transport of boat, the United States would be economically low. The United States would not be able to trade with countries across the Atlantic Ocean and wouldn’t be able to transport goods to places in a much faster way. Ancient Greece showed great architectural skills that had more of an influence on to the United States, opposed to the architectural skills of ancient Rome. Without ancient Greece having such strong and beautiful architecture, the major political and monumental buildings of the United States would look totally different.
