Since Karina is reluctant to speak in class and does not have a strong group of friends, I will pair her with someone that is patient. Students are expected to take part in the discussions in small groups and the group as a whole. In the small group, Karina will be paired with the same person each time. She will also be allowed to write a short description of what she wants to say. From there, her partner may ask her some more questions to help Karina become more confident about speaking in class after forming a strong relationship. The Ancient Element Fair could be a challenge for Karina, so I will suggest that her group creates something to hand out to the visitors. Karina will then be expected to hand this item out as her participation portion

The Roman Empire was a better empire than the Athenian Empire. Charistrics of a good government include; allowing many people be citizens, which is good because the government would have more people supporting and expanding the government; giving citizens many rights, which is also good because it gives citizens rights so they can make the government stronger, and by having a senate because it ensures the decisions and laws are correct. The first reason the Roman Empire had a better government than the Athenian government is because of the Roman Senate. The Roman Senate was made up of 300 men who inherited their spots.…

It is important to mention that though we use the Ancient Grecian legal system, in addition to juries, we also have judges deciding the fate of a defendant party. Ultimately, no matter which method we use: judge, jury or both, there may be some bias within the trial. Bias ' create complications for most Canadian courtrooms as Lady Justice is looked upon to allow everyone equal opportunity. Unfortunately, this does not always happen. Though wrongful convictions are a reality in our court system, I suspect that we would have a lot more if the legal system were just to rely upon a judge or jury — especially in severe legal cases.…

Athena Essay Pallas Athena is one of the most recognizable of the gods and goddesses of mount Olympus today. As the embodiment of wisdom and truth, she is someone I look up too and would very much like to emulate. While other gods and goddesses have been forgotten, or recognized only in name, Athena prevails as very well know. Athena is remembered so well because she was a direct descendent of one of the big three and very powerful, because the things she represented inspired humans to do great feats in her name, and because she left such glorious imprints in the early civilization of the world.…

Most of what I really need to know about how to live, and what to do, and how to be, I learned from the Interact Club. These are some of the things I learned: Help people often, it is good for you. Talk to strangers and meet new people.…

Firstly, in order to gain a clear understanding of what the Athenian Assembly would have been like, it is important to look at who would attend the assemblies, as obviously, one would not be able to propose a motion without first gaining to right to attend. From reading speeches by Demosthenes, we can see that there was a process you had to go through in order to gain permission to attend. As part of his speech Against Leochares, Demosthenes comments that ‘he had the audacity to go and enrol himself on the assembly list. ’ This is evidence of there being a list of specific people who were allowed to attend and partake in the assembly. Aristotle goes into much more detail, telling of the process of gaining access to the assembly.…

Thucydides’ description of the Peloponnesian War, besides being an account of an enormous conflict, also serves as an account of the many views of justice. The Athenians, the imperial force in ancient Greece, often assert that justice plays no role in foreign affairs. This belief, specifically explained at Sparta and Melos, is the Athenian Thesis. Although not all Athenians agree with the Athenian Thesis as proposed at Sparta and Melos, it is still an important theme in the Peloponnesian War. The Melian Dialogue specifically displays how little regard the Athenian Thesis shows for justice.…
