Civilization In Ancient Egypt

Civilization in ancient Egypt was a very intriguing time in history with how much relics and knowledge we have on them. This will discuss on why the Egyptians chose to live where they did, what they created or followed to maintain a community for so long, and how their civilization then is compared to the United States (U.S.) now. Straightway, what made the Egyptians live by the Nile River. Well, the Nile river had rich soil and water that would flow through it, making it a great place to grow food, stay hydrated, and allow transportation via a boat. Even when it would flood it was very predictable when and for how long this would happen. Through this they created a calendar that was broken up into 3 seasons over the course of 365 days. Usually, civilization would mean that besides the spoken language there would be a written language, a religion or belief, a type of governmental system, and little pieces of their culture like art, statues, and/or music. Luckily the Egyptians had everything that falls into that list and then some to help their civilization stand. This was only possible because of all the prosperity they had. Furthermore, they would experiment and adapt things into their culture such as creating hieroglyphics (their written language), using the papyrus plants to make paper, the basics of algebra (though they didn’t use it in many things), and even great medical achievements that they found through their process of mummification. Mummification is a ritual done when someone dies to help guide them into the afterlife through the processes of preserving the body and taking out most of the organs, but keep only the important organs (such as the heart) in jars that would symbolize their Gods. don’t do the exact same thing in certain situations there are still some similarities besides them both being a civilization. For instance, both take it on to themselves to take care of their dead, as well as try to do good in the life you live. You see, the Egypt did mummification but the U.S. either buries or cremates the dead to allow grief to pass and the dead to move on and to both what you did while you lived will reflect in death. On an economic standing they both also dominated in trade. Both civilizations even created monuments or even statues of people that had great influence, an example of this is the Egyptians created pyramids and the U.S. has memorials like the Washington Monument or Mount Rushmore National Memorial. They both even created/use advanced mathematics and medical practices of creating medicine and the use of vaccines. Though after all that the similarities start to get fuzzier. Especially, on the standing of government and religion. On the government side they both follow the guidance of one person, but the way that it is set up and ran is completely different. In ancient Egypt what the pharaoh says is law, no if ands or buts and had to be in the same bloodline. However, in the U.S. the system is democratic republic where everyone votes/elects people to vote/run the country for the people and can be ran by anyone if they were born in the U.S. Then for religion the U.S. it mainly consists of monotheism (belief of

Since the beginning of time, civilizations have been established due to the geography and climate in a certain area. Hominids, which were two-legged pre-human predecessors were said to be the first humans on earth, however it was not till later on that scientist found records of any kind. After the Neolithic Revolution, humans began to raise livestock and harvest food instead of hunting and gathering. The regions were so suitable that kingdoms were made.…

Life in Egypt Today, Egypt’s high environmental, temperature, and migration levels are still the same as it was back in 1967 and even later than that. However, there are many other things that make this country what it is today. "For example, the expanded irrigation of desert areas after the completion of the Aswan High dam in 1970s; which has increased soil salinity and aided the spread of waterborne diseases”(Malefic, Asante; 2002 “Culture and Customs of Egypt. Westport, Conn: Greenwood Press”). But, what about the evolutionary lines for both the governmental and religious cultural history of this country; do they play a big role in this country?…
