Ancient cultures have developed a concrete pallet and sense for foods, as well as many other uses for these products. Many familiar foods we consume today were created in Ancient Egypt. Cereal and bread was a key staple in the diets of the Ancient Egyptian culture, however, they did not solely survive off carbohydrates. The dietary needs of the civilization were also based upon fish, vegetables, hearty meats, and fruits. Much like modern day cultures, the day was based around three square meals. The Egyptians in a sense had many tools that accompanied the meals except utensils. Etiquette in speculation may not have been such a big deal, as modern culture believes manners to be. Fruits provided much more than just a succulent snack, fruits such as coconuts, dates, and cherries provided a medical purpose. It is clear that Ancient Egyptians had a passion for food that ran deeper than a meal. It is believed that foods that we eat today, specifically cereal, originated in ancient Egypt. The ancient culture used fruits such as cherries, dates, and coconuts to keep in good health and to ward off infections. Cherries and dates were often used to improve digestive health, and provide a relief from infections by acting as an anti-inflammatory. The ancient Egyptians had an eclectic pallet for foods, and extended their knowledge to the versatile properties of fruits that could benefit in the field of ancient medicine. The culture often ate in an abundance of fish, hearty meats, fruits, breads, and often drank wine or beer. Although the culture is ancient much of their kitchen utensils are similar to modern cultures, and etiquette was of much importance to the Egyptians.
