Personal Narrative: Anay Purohit

Great Essays
I have known Anay Purohit for close to eight years now. I first got to know Anay, when I his class teacher in the Sixth and Seventh grades. He came across as mature for his years. I was impacted in our initial classes by his equipoise. When I learned about his condition – that he suffered from pediatric Diabetes and might require ‘time-off’ in case he felt low, I understood. I understood that from his life experiences Anay had developed the ability to stay calm and handle difficult situations. I take pride in the fact that a sterling student like Anay was my student at different stages of school, for I learned a lot from him. Although, he graduated from high school last year, we stay in touch through the electronic media.

Another important facet of Anay’s persona is that he was a fighter. On several occasions, he had to take insulin shots during the class, but he maintained his composure and immediately, after taking the shot, he would join class activity and not let his condition affect his class performance or his studies. Anay participated in extracurricular and sports activities, enthusiastically. At the conclusion of the adventure camp that I took my Ninth grade students to, Anay won the Best Leader Award. He truly deserved the recognition, for like a true leader; he motivated his teammates, encouraging them to take the activity as a challenge and not give up, which spoke volumes for his resilience and faith in …show more content…
I would say that Anay’s hallmarks are acuity, astuteness and perseverance. Also, his interest in mathematics and related fields like algebra and geometry is exceptional. Indubitably, his comprehension of the three branches and proclivity towards analytics will serve him well, as he furthers his knowledge and skills as an undergraduate at your esteemed university.

In the course of my teacher, I have realized that all student fall in two categories – those who study for grades to secure college admissions and those who look to learn. Anay clearly belongs to the latter
