I am curious about how individuality and intimacy can be found within our anatomy. These two aspects were mentioned before in the position paper, for example the x- ray photos that were used as intimate portraits in the story of Thomas Mann. A small reference about individuality, is made about Joseph Merrick and how his unique skeleton. I have scratched the surface of these two aspects in the anatomical context so additional research will be necessary. I intend two combine these two aspects to create an intimate anatomical portraits. Although, the form of a portrait …show more content…
I also plan to analyse, if within the anatomical scientific community there are certain intimate moments, when they are examining a person and how they deal with these moments. Then I want delve into how individuality and intimacy is portrayed in art and literature, specifically certain works that contain an anatomical element. Also I will research the aspects of individuality and intimacy in a more general sense.
The next step is to research and develop methods as an interdisciplinary artist to portray these two aspects within an anatomical context. By experimenting with methods, materials and techniques that I will get to know from the research. I intend to create a portrait of myself but also of others to help highlight the differences between our anatomies and how that represents that particular individual.
I am convinced that this work/project is relevant because it could provide a different way to perceive another human being. Not only in a skin deep manner but further into what we consist of. The work/project can start to develop another approach on how to be intimate. We all search for some form of intimacy with someone or some people, and this drive is what creates
