Working with a professional team in regards to Ana’s case would be beneficial due to the needs that would be needed. As a team, the additional mental health professionals are needed in order to make sure the client has the necessary tools for recovery. Each mental health professional would be able to bring their own specialized skills and a role in the clients’ recovery including the primary clinician involved in this case. A few things are also considered such as the location of the client, the services needed, the goals that needs to be worked on, the treatment setting, and the health care system in that clients’ area. The individuals that would apart of the professional treatment team would be a social worker, family member, psychiatrist, psychotherapist, primary care doctor, and the nurse practitioner. The clinical social worker is a counselor with a Masters’ degree in social work. This individual is trained to make diagnoses, provide group and individual counseling as well as to advocate for the client. The psychiatrist is a medical doctor who is specialized in the treatment and diagnosis related to emotional and mental disorders. A psychiatrist is someone who can prescribe medication to the client, but they do not counsel the client. The nurse practitioner is also a registered nurse who has a specialized training in the treatment of the client who may an emotional and mental illness.
