Libertarianism is the idea that government involvement with civil economy and social matters should be limited. Both also emphasize individual freedom and disagree with government intervening in personal matters. They also consider that mankind is able to cooperate well with others and work together in unity.
But besides having some similarities, both concepts significantly differ. Overall, anarchism goes to the extreme of completely being against the entire government. Anarchism suggests that there should be no form of government/state to exist; it should totally be done away with. In contrast, libertarianism suggests that government should only be limited as a way of keeping order in society. It is more practical and likely to function better than anarchism, being that completely doing away with order of power could actually lead towards problems and eventually
