I found found a bit of humor in Wodehouse's essay myself. I realized his essay was intended to be humorous through the subtle ways he describes the golf course he has created at his manor and through the different and creative obstacles that are described along the way. No golf course is complete without challenges and obstacles throughout, and even this homemade indoor course is no exception. Ranging from bathtub water hazards to moving hazards such as animals or maids, this course has its share of silly obstacles. The way that he describes these holes with such a nonchalant attitude, even though they are a bit out of the ordinary, to me makes it seem like this essay was supposed to be a humorous one.
