For this creative task I chose to interpret my own understanding of a spoken word poem and a songTo This Day by Shane Koyczan and Never Let Me Go by Jasmine Thomas, and produce a piece of choreography that demonstrates my understanding of similar themes of self worth and love. As I listened to the two songs I found a connection through the lyrics. To this day addresses bullying and how it effects the lives of the victims still today and how it changes them forever. While Never Let Me Go is exploring how she is finally finding some kind of peace from whatever she is going through, and no longer feels the need to pray for release or speak to explain herself. I feel the two songs together give a strong message of how you should embrace yourself
