Subdivisions
In the early 1900’s, immigrants swarmed the east coast with languages, culture, and no money. Many had little education and did not know where to go. All were casted out, even though they all had the American Dream in mind. Subdivisions by Rush is a song alluding to the mass flow of immigrants and how they were casted out and limited to where they could go. The song excellently displays what immigrants had to go through during the early 1900’s when they lived in America. Subdivisions is not a story at all. The song talks about how the immigrants lived on the east coast, mostly in populated urban areas. It does not evoke much emotion as the words that
