Analyzing The Song 'Masterpiece'

Music can be my life saver because it reflects on what I go through. Times after times, I would fall and give up on my problems. That last moment when I was about to give up on everything, a dramatic song going through the atmosphere and went straight to my ears made me want to listen to it. “Masterpiece” by Jessie J has been repeated at all time. I would listen and pay attention to the meaning of this song. The part that this son got me is “I still fall on my face sometimes and I can’t color inside the line because I’m perfectly incomplete, I’m still working on my masterpiece.” Through rough times, no matter what you would need to get up again and try harder. Jessie J’s song reminds all people that no matter how hard it is, you shouldn’t give up easily on reaching your dreams. You should reach your dreams and become anything you want to be. You should just get back up and hold your head high. Let the world deal with how you can handle everything. Just remember …show more content…
This song also taught me about valuing tour dreams and to chase them. And also how to accept failures at times because you are willing to work hard on our dreams. I’ve notice how there are those who comes in my life and doesn’t help me get up. I would make a mistake and fall but they wouldn’t do anything. For those that have been there and inspired me to get up and deal with the world became an impact to my life. I would let them listen to the “Masterpiece” and they would say it’s an inspirational song. They would tell me that I should just let the haters hate because they aren’t worth my time. To me, listening to “Masterpiece” made a big impact to myself because of how many times I would almost give up on everything including close friends. I would have those who would encourage me, push me, and strived me so I can achieve my

Perfume Genius’s track “Hood” is a song of intense complexity, as well as beautiful, simple tragedy. Perfume Genius, the stage name of Mike Hadreas, is a one-man solo artist, and “Hood” is the ninth song on a twelve track album called Put Your Back N 2 It, released in 2012. Hadreas is openly gay, and sexuality plays a large part in many of his works, “Hood” being a prime example, although not the central focus of the song. With various interpretations and subjective relatability, the true meaning of “Hood” is still able to shine through, especially with Hadreas’s use of rhetorical devices and artistic decisions that enhance the audience experience. Rhetorical devices are used throughout the song and the video in order to help Hadreas get his…

This is an amazing song with great lyrical depth that most definitely promotes an encouraging and motivating message. The song is dedicated to women and the struggles they must face in the sexist society that continues to exist till this day. Tupac uses incredible lyrics to motivate women to stand strong and keep fighting. He not only inspires female listeners, but also male audiences to become more aware of the realities females must face on a daily basis. The song I chose, “kill em with kindness”, is about not fighting and ignoring awful people. It may be easier to be mean, but being kind makes you feel better about yourselves. I know this because in the song, it says “the world can be a nasty place...put down the weapons you fight with.” this means, sometimes things can be rough but you don’t have to fight (that’s why it says “put down the weapons you fight with”) this song also has a great deal of metaphors.…

He inspired people to think beyond the nation's conformity, he acknowledge that the world, no doubt, has a lot of problems, and there is always some need for change and progress to fix them. Tsoi`s song “We want changes” has been an inspiration to me in different ways. It helped me to understand that in order to improve our lives we have to force ourselves to undergo difficult changes. Wanting the “impossible” is sometimes discouraging but after a while when we work hard and stay true to ourselves, we obtain what our heart desires. That might mean breaking up and leaving our comfortable lives or anything else that’s holding us back from accomplishing our dreams.…

In this song, I will be discussing the concepts of impact bias, the spotlight effect, and the idea of self-efficacy that interconnect with the lyrics. The song itself is filled emotional metaphors and analogies that relate to the ideas of sorrow, depression, and the singer finding her way after a problem she is facing. This song can give a tiny source of representation into the mind of Florence and her self-concept and feelings. According to Meyers (2013) impact bias is the “overestimating the enduring impact of emotion-causing events” (p. 48).…
