Analyzing The Misconceptions Of The Holy Bible

Improved Essays
You certainly have a misconception of the Holy Bible, while it's the only book that answers almost every aspect of life's questions and beyond. one third of the Bible is actually devoted to prophecy and 90% of it is destine for the time of the END; our days ahead of us now. It's sad that you like many; purposely cut yourselves off from this foundation of knowledge to stick to sad unreliable flaky human reasoning, that which in the long run, never works for any good.

Zombies, nuclear explosions, black holes. There are many theories on how the world will end. As Christians, we have the opportunity to look at prophecy in the Bible to have an idea of what the end will be like. However, the Bible can be confusing or unclear, allowing for multiple interpretations. Considering the end of time, we will look at four different views on what the millennium is and where it is placed on the timeline.…

In order to know exactly what the stumbling block principle is, a stumbling block must be defined as it is used in the Bible. First, in order to understand a stumbling block, “offense” must be defined. Offense within the Bible can be defined in two ways. It can be seen in the Bible as God or Jesus causing unbelievers to stumble in their ways and become saved, and it can also be seen as an experienced Christian causing a new Christian to act against their conscience; this offense can also be caused by the temptation of Satan (Youngblood, 923). These are the main ways that offense is used in the Bible as a way that causes someone to “stumble.”…

Although many people believe the bible is corrupted and full of contradictions, to Christians the “contradictions” are different ways of describing the same object. The bible is a very reliable source and once the verses are broken down and looked further into the “contradictions” will not seem so contradictory anymore. The first contradiction comes from the verses of Mark 14:30 and Matthew 26:34. The problem is how many times did the rooster crow and what did Jesus really say? The answer to this is that, both books do not state how many times the rooster but state that Peter will deny the Lord three times.…

Many people in our world desire to know what the future holds. Thousands of people read horoscopes, go to palm readers, and look to psychics for answers to questions concerning the future. We are enamored with knowing what is coming over the next horizon so it is no wonder that many people who read the Bible do so to get an insiders glimpse on what tomorrow holds. And in a very general, but meaningful way, we are told what the future holds for humanity. Those who are found in Christ have an eternal hope of glory to look forward to and those who reject the Christ are destined for an eternal separation from all this is good and godly.…

Conversation Analysis I think for a first-touch apologetic conversation, this one went as well as could be expected. My goal in this conversation was not to present every counter-argument to her worldview or generate some kind of proof to win her over instantly to the Gospel. I hope that this is the first of several conversations about faith, and therefore I didn’t try to “close the deal.” My goal was to understand better how she sees the world, what aspects of her background have influenced that worldview, and any lingering questions she might have about faith or the world that I might, from a Christian perspective, be able to speak into in the future. Specifically, I think the conversation went well because, throughout our dialogue,…

For many decades, psychology and Christianity have been viewed as two fields that are mutually exclusive. Through the perpetual changes that both have gone through from pre-modernity, modernity, and post-modern thinking, researchers and theologians are working to find an appropriate and functional synthesis to bring the two together. Integration can be very difficult because psychology and Christianity have different worldviews. The goal of psychology is to fully understand the human mind, whereas Scripture teaches that humans cannot fully understand themselves. Psychology as a science has been said to have a dehumanizing effect as it encourages people to be normal and well-adjusted.…

When you look at Christian leaders debating indisputable truth attempting to discover new revelation in the Bible they end up with false teachings, false ideologies, false views and counterfeit interpretations. This happened in the OT and NT world, and there is no different today. But is there really a need for Theology? (Erickson, 31). I have asked myself the same question.…

Firstly, I respectfully disagree with your viewpoint of strong rationalism. To begin with, a proponent of this philosophical ideology would not use the Bible as their first source of evidence. Instead, they would start from a position of neutrality to validate or refute Christ’s resurrection through reasonable data. Perhaps, they would begin by investigating statements like everyone dies or Jesus was divine and could live again since these look at both sides of the issue. In turn, if they decided to pursue the Bible as justification for the resurrection, it would only be because they previously evaluated and justified it through neutral proof to be true.…

Amber Hayes REL 2100 Professor Zolondek October 15, 2017 Religion Traditionally, the concept of “myth” implies an invented story associated with some miraculous and improbable events that are likely to have never taken place in the real life. However, in case of religious studies, the concept of myth is viewed in a different way since experts in the field of religious studies, such as Joseph Campbell, view the myth not as a fancy story that emerged in folklore under the impact of various factors, but rather as a story based on some actual events that have once taken place but which ultimately transformed into the miraculous story with numerous details that have been added and invented in the course of telling and retelling the myth from one generation to another.…

Final Reflection This course has been interesting in offering new perspectives on the Bible, especially in the ways in which people’s interpretations of the Bible today are related to the ways and reasons why certain books of the Bible were written. It has also been interesting seeing how Western society and history is very much dependent upon the Bible, and entire eras of history are separated by the ways people began to think and interpret the Bible.…

The Authentic Scripture In my understanding of the scripture, and its original form of the manuscripts, this is known as the inspired and infallible word of God. The Scripture is the product of the Holy Spirit divinely inspiring chosen men to write God’s desired message (2 Tim. 3:16-17 ESV). The bible holds the inspired words of God; it is consequently without error completely.…
