Analyzing Techniques In Samuel Gomez's Work

Decent Essays
Samuel Gomez's work attracted me more than any others. Looking at his work we can predict how much effort he put on it. His works are just filled with black and white ink. It seems like he has lot of experience working with contrast colors and that he has come up with the best use of black and white. It is amazing to see his use of lines, and shapes. Also the use of texture in the art has made it look so great.

I believe that he embodies something different then all of the other artists I have studied thus far. As I was searching through the various pictures on the internet of his sculptures, I was truly stunned at how life-like they look. With each sculpture I looked at I took on a different set of emotion every time. When looking at the dead body one I instantly felt sad, disturbed, and a little dark and twisted. When I looked at “Ghost” I felt her pain and insecurity as it is written all over her face.…

Antonio de Padua María Severino López de Santa Anna y Pérez de Lebrón, the general of the Mexican army, was intelligent, dynamic, ambitious, and egocentric. He was so smart that he dropped out of school and quit his apprenticeship to a merchant because he was intellectually unchallenged. Mabry, had an “immediate concern to be on the winning side in any battle… switching allegiance never troubled him.”…

Are traditional nuclear American families really the most encouraging families compared to any other families or ethnicities? As stated in the article, “The Color of Family Ties” by Naomi Gerstel and Natalia Sarkisian, “Commentators often emphasize the disorganization and dysfunction of Black and Latino/a family life. They suggest that if we ‘fix’ family values in minority communities and get them to form married- couple households, all their problems would be solved” (51). In other words, commentators believe that if unmarried Black and Latino/a families or single parents found a soul mate and married that there will be fewer complications within their family. However, Gerstel and Sarkisian claim, “Even if they don’t live together,…
