The piece that I chose from Rita Letendre is called “Sun Force”. I chose this piece because it symbolizes a critical change in her style. I made my painting about my graduation day when it felt like I had many feelings exploding inside me. Furthermore, this was her first large scale painting so she did not have any experience with painting on that building wall. Just like her I don’t have much experience in painting, specifically with watercolour, which is why I ended up using the wrong type of paper too. With her painting I admired how much contrast there was with the black and yellow, so I tried to mimic that by having a black background.
