Peter Sis is an illustrator, author, filmmaker, and a cartoonist. Some of Peter’s illustrations have appeared in Time, The Atlantic Monthly, and many more newspapers and magazines. His work with children’s books has been very successful. The New York Times Book Review awarded him the best illustration book of the year seven times. Peter has also won the Golden Bear Award at the 1980 West Berlin Film Festival for best-animated short.
Peter Sis was born in Brno, Czechoslovakia May 11, 1949. He attended the Academy of Applied Arts in Prague and the Royal College of Arts in London. Peter recently lives in New York City with his current wife Ten-y Lajtha. Ten-y is a documentary-film editor. Their baby daughter, Madeline, is said to be the one to
