In chapter 5 Walter and his friends tried to hang a boy. But was caught by a preacher who was shocked by their actions. The preacher took them home ,and they was beat by their parents. Walter shared that he has trouble with speech. He said when he was reading and kids laughed at him he beat them up for making fun of his speech. Walter was surprised by his real blood father when he moved to Harlem to with his new family. He said he still claims his adopted family as his real family. Walter said he finaly met his uncle that was in prison for years and wondered why he speaked out the side of his mouth. In chapter 6 Walter was made to read books instead of comics.
