“For Whom The Bell Tolls” is a 3 stanza lyric song written about J. Cole’s depression and music career. This monologue uses repetition and symbolism to get his message across about how he is feeling. He feels that his music career is ending and is not sure how to feel about it. The first stanza contains 8 lines, while the second has 16 lines. The first 8 lines repeat itself once in the stanza making it 16 lines. The last stanza which contains only two lines seems to be for a more dramatic effect and ending to the song.
