This assignment taught me how to effectively analyze sources and become unbiased. Before the unit two assignment, I had no idea what ethos, pathos, and logos were. In addition, to be unbiased on a subject that was clearly catered to one side seemed illogical to me. However, due to teacher conferences I was able to grasp the purpose of the assignment. After I analyzed the sources I began to make connections I never had before. For example, one source, an in-person interview, worked for a specific company and everything they said was biased in that company’s favor. Before the assignment, I would have thought that was simply good work on the source’s part. After the assignment, I realized that the spokesperson was using the company 's ethos in order to convince me of their side. This taught me to look at why a fact was created, who created it, and what purpose does it have. This allows me to become unbiased and more informed when looking at facts presented.
