Ah, the girl that everyone loves to hate. Blair Waldorf is highly regarded as the queen of young society in Manhattan. There’s many things to be said about her, some not so nice. As Dan Humphrey would describe her she’s “everything [he] hates about the Upper East Side distilled into one 95-pound, doe-eyed, bon mot tossing, label-whoring package of girly evil.” Blair Waldorf was born a queen. Her family is prominent and well respected on the Upper East Side mainly because of her mother, Eleanor Waldorf, who runs a famous high-end fashion empire.
Blair is described as one of the most beautiful girls on the Upper East Side. She has a fox-like face which already intimidates people before actually even approaching …show more content…
She excels academically and has tons of extracurriculars. Although she attends parties and drinks regularly, she manages to keep up with her schoolwork. She graduated from Constance-Billard at the top of her class but she got waitlisted at Yale. Part of it was because she totally screwed up her interview with the Yale admissions officer. She rambled on about how things weren’t going well in her life and how her boyfriend hates her. To top it all off, she kissed him when she was dismissed. How embarrassing! Her father donated a whole vineyard in France to the school in hopes that Yale would turn a blind eye to her interview. As a last resort, she applied to Harvard, Princeton, Brown, Tufts and Wesleyan. Early on in the series she swore she would never apply anywhere else but Yale as she was sure she was going to get in but the odds were not in her favour. Her pride was further wounded when she got rejected by all of these schools, when Serena got in even with her less than stellar grades. To further complicate things, her mother got pregnant with Cyrus’s baby, much to her dismay. Soon, she learns to accept it and even gets to name her sister. Can you guess what it is? Yale, of course! Later down the line, she deservedly gets accepted into Yale. Amidst of all of her setbacks and challenges, Blair was never one to back down which is really something to …show more content…
She likes to think of herself as the star of her own perfect movie but what she fails to realize is that life is not a movie. You can’t plan out how your life is going to be because there’s always something that throws you in for a curve. Like with her Yale situation, if she was more open-minded maybe she would’ve gotten in earlier. It wasn’t just her interview that screwed up her admission. She didn’t accept the fact that she wasn’t going to be the only child anymore and prevented her from moving on with her life. This mindset isn’t very healthy because you’d constantly feel stuck. She tries to reach her unattainable goal and when she can’t, she comes crashing right back down. You’d never guess that things go wrong in Blair Waldorf’s life. Everyone thinks she lives this perfect life in her perfect world mainly because thats what she’s led them to believe. She hides behind her cool and confident exterior to hide what’s already broken inside. Her father left her mom for another man. Her mother’s company is more important to her mom than she is. Blair’s boyfriend, Nate, doesn’t care about her. Her supposed best friend left without saying goodbye. All of this had an effect on her and it really made her feel like she can’t trust anyone anymore. But when you keep things hidden, you feel like you're going to implode. She didn’t know another way to
