Analyzing Current Practice To Formulate Researchable Problems

Critically analyze current practice to formulate researchable problems. The outcome for critically analyzing current practice and formulating researchable problems was met through the weekly assignments and readings completed for the course. Identifying current everyday questions and problems found throughout my current work as a nurse stimulated my thoughts and assisted me with identifying an area of interest. Utilization of the internet and school library assisted me with identifying research articles related to my topic of choice for my research project. Identifying a topic of interest was the easiest part of this outcome. Further developing the topic into a research design and study was a large task. However, through the weekly reading, discussion boards, assignments and instructor feedback the task was manageable and the opportunity to learn was provided.
Evaluate research as the basis for decision-making to improve outcomes through translation into evidence-based practice. Before this course evidence-based practice was simply a thought of best practices and the procedures I currently utilize in everyday practice caring for patients. The project and task seemed a bit overwhelming in its entirety. Assigning the task of completed components of the project weekly allowed me to grasp a better understanding without being overwhelmed. Each week steps were learned and completed for the research design process. The process began with identifying a topic, research the background information and developing a design with instruments to conduct the study. Each week components of the design process were learned through readings and assignments. Both discussion board assignments and written assignments were completed and further understanding and insight were obtained through instructor
