Many people have been killed by terrorist attacks, such as 9/11and the Oklahoma City attack which occurred on April 19,1995. Therefore, many people were left hopeless and terrified. I believe the speech Clinton wrote was very effective in showing support for the American people during the tragedy because the words which were used by him showed sympathy, offered hope, and offered help. Firstly, I believe Clinton's speech was effective in showing support for the American people during the tragedy became the words he used shows sympathy. As stated in the text, "a tree takes a long time to grow, and wounds take a long time to heal. But we must begin (22,70).
