The Crush (Script Analysis)
Act 1
A boy named Ardle has a crush on his second grade teacher, Ms. Purdy and gives her a ring after class that he bought himself. Flattered by this, Ms. Purdy asks if the two were engaged which sets a new goal for Ardle to marry his teacher someday. The next day while shopping with his mom, Ardle is shocked and heartbroken to see that Ms. Purdy wasn’t wearing his ring but an actual engagement ring given to her by her real boyfriend, Pierce.
Act 2
Ardle sets out to seek revenge against Ms. Purdy’s boyfriend, and confronts him after school challenging him to a duel with pistols. Pierce who finds this amusing, and a joke agrees to Ardle’s challenge, and meets him in the school yard the next day with Ms. Purdy. Ardle
