My project uses optical illusions to compare gender and see if there are any major differences in how men and women perceive images. But what exactly is an optical illusion? Is age a factor in what the subject is seeing as well? My objective is to construct an experiment to determine whether there are differences between the sexes and how each view certain illusions. My hypothesis is that men and women will perceive or view images differently due to the manner in which their brains process information. Thus, they will not think the same and will ultimately view images differently.

Whereas, the female eye is more perceptive to color changes according to information obtained by a new vision study that suggests men and women visualize the world differently. A researcher, Israel Abramov, at the City University of New York claimed that testosterone plays a major role in the way we look at things and this is what leads to different connectivity between males and females. The genders even have differences between their focuses in everyday conversations. During a conversation, men typically look towards the mouth and a women's focus shifts more towards the eyes. New research finds that men and women's visual centers work differently. In the brain, there are high concentrations of male sex hormone receptors throughout the cerebral cortex, especially in the visual cortex which is responsible for processing images. Androgens are responsible for controlling the development of neutrons in the visual cortex during embryogenesis. This results with males having 25% more of these neutrons.
