Imperative pointing is when a child points to be able to retrieve object by requesting it to an adult beginning at around 10 months. So a child will use this form of pointing when they want something that is out of their reach, so a toy or a bottle. Declarative pointing on the other hand is the social process that occurs between an adult and the infant. I find it extremely interesting that most teachers were not able to give the correct answer to the fraction problem. Fractions may take some time to understand, but a teacher should be able to understand and implement a problem regarding fractions. Also, does putting a fraction into story form confuse teachers and so they are not able to put in the correct way? I believe that teachers need to make sure they are not getting confused with connecting the symbols to elements in the story and then connecting them the wrong way. It may also be the way the education system in America teaches mathematics which hinders students from properly knowing how to put a problem like that into story form.…

My childhood memories regarding learning mathematics has been for the most part positive from 6th grade onwards. From 1st grade to 5th grade I was not conscientious so at times math tests produced anxiety but math was, at the same time, easier and simpler back then. I recall being the fastest person to state the multiplication tables in 4th grade. During 6th to 8th grade, although I was not necessarily the smartest, I landed at the top of the class in advance math since I was very hard working. However in 9th grade I recalled a horrific incident.…
