So the big matter is, Should college athletes be paid? We all have different perspectives ,but the answer is yes. College athletes should be paid because they bring millions of dollars in revenue to the program alone, and college athletes struggle to hold down a job.

For example, in the March Madness basketball tournament, the biggest college basketball tournament in the United States, they had earned over millions of dollars in merchandise sales, ticketing sales, and advertisement. In 2010, the NCAA announced that they would be doing a 10.8 billion dollar broadcasting deal with CBS for 14 years. The tournament brings over one billion dollars in advertising revenue alone, that's more than the super bowl. They make four million dollars in ticketing revenue, and they also earn seventeen million dollars in merchandise revenue. Still with all of the money coming in, they don't get a single penny. This validates that even the top colleges in the U.S. that play in the biggest college tournament don’t get paid when they are the cause that brought all of the money in. Another example that proves that athletes don’t get paid is the Louisville Cardinal basketball team. According to Chris Smith from Forbes, the Cardinals are the highest paid college basketball team in the whole nation earning just about 45.1 million dollars, but with all of this money the players are not getting paid for their hard work. Finally, this proves that college athletes bring all of the revenue, and they don’t get paid
