The War Within Holly
You have no worth, no beauty, and no life worth living. These are the thoughts that went through 15 year old Holly Lans mind. Everyone at Hollies High school knew of Holly, the kids thought she was fun to hang around and pretty chill, the teachers thought Holly was enjoyable to teach and quite a smart student. Everyone thought Holly was perfect….except for Holly. Little did people know of Holly’s struggle in life and that there was a war going on inside the teenagers girls head. You look like a slob. Thought Holly’s brain, Scum that’s what you are, did your Mom even say I love you to when you went out the front door to get to the bus? NO, she didn't because she doesn't love you. Holly’s brain kept persisting and getting darker and darker with the words that were thought. Stop it! Holly fought back with the ugly side of her brain, But the words that her brain was thinking started to get Holly to depressed to continue. That’s what I thought. Holly’s brain thought scathingly when Holly had nothing else to say to to the dark and frightening words that her brain said. Holly’s brain got stronger and stronger against the girl. Holly stopped fighting back and let the horrid thoughts take over her being.
Holly Felt someone touch her arm. “Holly.” A quiet girls voice said. Holly looked up to the person who was touching her arm. It was Jaycee, the shy girl that sat in the back of English class. Jaycee saw that Holly’s face was wet with tears in the middle of class so when the grumpy mrs.Green let the class choose partners for the assignment on coal mines Jaycee went over to Holly to see what was wrong. When jaycee saw Holly’s wet face something looked different about her, Jaycee couldn’t quit place the difference on Holly’s face, But she decided to ask hesitantly Jaycee asked, “ Holly, What’s wrong?” That’s all it took for Holly to spill to the quiet girl Jaycee.
“And the thoughts just keep coming and coming never leaving, so I gave up fighting.” Holly Finished
