The Republic of Indonesia is a country located in Southeast Asia near the equator. Indonesia is known as the largest archipelagic nation because it has a total of 17,508 islands. Indonesia is also known for the fourth most populous country in the world with a total population of more than 238 million(“Basic Facts”). The GDP of Indonesia in 2015 was $859 billion where United States has $17.95 trillion(CIA). That shows that Indonesia is still a developing country.
Indonesia is rich in natural resources. The natural resources that Indonesia has are petroleum, tin, natural gas, nickel, timber, bauxite, copper, fertile soils, coal, gold, and silver. By having this much resources, Indonesia is able to do trading with super powers, such as United

Indonesia has 5.9 percent unemployment rate in 2014, but it grows to 6.2 percent in 2015. Which means Indonesia has the potential of facing a higher unemployment rate(CIA). According to McGregor, these people are just like the people that he describe in his Theory X- “workers have little ambition, dislike work, want to avoid responsibility”(Robbins, Decenzo, and Coulter 334). Robbins, Decenzo, and Coulter, motivation is what keeps the employee working for the company(309). There might be another reason is that there is a lack of motivation in Indonesia. As a result, people are quitting their jobs. Robbins, Decenzo, and Coulter said, “many ineffective or inexperienced managers naively believe that money is a prime motivator”(307). But people in Indonesia are suffering from poverty,so money should be the biggest motivation. What the government can create a new budget that gives money to companies in Indonesia, so they can offer a higher salary or create more job opportunity. CIA indicates that the median age of people is 29.9 years old, but a large percentage of the people in Indonesia could not work. Roughly 50 percent of the total population can count as a workforce. More precisely, Indonesia has a total 122.4 million workforce; which make them become the fifth country that has the most labor(CIA). This shows that Indonesia has a large number of human resource. Robbins, Decenzo, and Coulter define the human resource as “Getting training, motivating and keeping competent employees”(183). Even Indonesia has a large number of human resource, human resource management is still needed because with effective human resource management the economy of Indonesia can grow even faster.
