The Od yssey is a poem that was written by Homer. This particular story is about a goddess name Odyssess on his journey back home after his fight in the Trojan war. As I read the first few chapters I started to get interested in the Greek culture because the gods are similar to real life. To me, the poem reminds me reading fiction stories in middle school because it shows the monsters and the gods interacting with one another. There were several themes in the story that stood out to me for example the hospitality shown to the guest. For example, Poseidon is the god of the sea, even though the sea looks calm and we have fun at the beach, The Odyssey shows a different side of the beach as being violent and a deadly place to visit.
