Settlement in New France
Along St. Lawrence River
Since every habitant wanted access to the river ( for water to farm and to fish, but mainly because the St. Lawrence played a major role in transportation, so everyone wanted access to it for that reason), the land was divided into narrow strips along the St. Lawrence River
KOF owned each strip and let seigneurs control them, but habitants were granted to live and farm there in exchange for either money or produce
Each seigneury had a church (and a cemetery), a mill, a couple of decks on the river with canoes
Each strip of land had a house, a barn, a shed, fields of crops and others, an outdoor oven

Political
Identify and explain the division of power on a seigneury
The most powerful person in a seigneury is KOF since he owns all the land (ABSOLUTE MONARCHY)
But because he does not have direct control over it since lives in France, the Sovereign Council is responsible for watching over seigneuries and reporting info to the king.
In the Sovereign Council, the Intendant is supposed to do that
Of course, seigneurs have their share of power too
As I previously mentioned, they were granted supervision of the seigneuries. Seigneurs were not necessarily wealthier because they had more power than before. In fact, the habitants benefited from this almost equally as the seigneurs did. Contrarily to this, in France, Seigneurs were very wealthy from this system and habitants were not. This is just one of the many systems integrated from france to new france that changed greatly to the good of the common
