First off I did not know how far back this movement went. Also I did not know what their agenda was. When I read more about the gay liberation movement. They are fighting for basic rights that they are stripped off. This really shocked me because we were treating them like they are not humans by taking away rights and liberties everyone should have. Also in their agenda they are trying to get rid of the homophobic beliefs. For example, “all gays molest children, or that homosexuality is abnormal or perverted sexual preference that can, and should be corrected by religious, psychiatric help, and most gays deep down want to be straight” (Ball, Dagger and O' Neill 249). I found myself in disbelief that people actually thought these beliefs were true. I never knew so many people believed these lies and that it was such a serious problem which needed to be addressed. I am glad that I have read about the gay liberation movement because it has definitely changed my beliefs about
