In the story,”The Celebrated Jumping Frog of Calaveras County” by Mark Twain is about this person who does a request from his friend who is looking for a man who goes by LEonidas W. Smiley. But as the friend who found an old wheeler he tells his story of how he knew a man that went by Jim Smiley. But in his story we learn that Jim Smiley like to gamble on anything. On one day he gambled that his frog would jump the highest than anyone in Calaveras County. Mark Twain uses Diction to play with his words to describe the way people are in the south.
