Throughout history several different groups of religion, race, and gender have conglomerated to form our unity as the United States of America. There have been many cases over the years where different groups, the Government per say, has discriminated against people. People such as blacks and teenagers. In America, things like your age, gender, and skin color can define the way you will be treated in certain areas. This form of discrimination goes against everything we stand for as Americans. This country flourishes on the thought that we provide freedom and acceptance of all, but as the discrimination issue grows the more we are understanding that is not always the case. No way to argue around that, albeit sometimes people try to ignore that fact. These rights you receive at birth aren't based upon skin color, gender, or the amount of money your family is built on. Once you are born, and obtain these rights, they are yours. No one can take them away from you because you weren't born with the “right” skin color, or “enough” money. What exactly is the “right” skin color or amount of money? Any, and every, American has the same rights and freedoms as another. Freedom of speech, freedom of the press, and freedom of religion. Being American means being free, and no one can take that freedom away from you.

To not question the system, the way things work. As young children parents raise us the way they deem as “suitable” for this environment. Different parents equal different parenting methods. Some children are brought up with religion being slammed in front of them. Other are told to be perfect at everything and believe nothing. So why, when we start having our own thoughts and questions about this world, are we shut down so quickly? Teenagers in America face violations of our civil right simply due to lack of understanding. We don't know what rights we were born with. What rights we deserve, so we stay oblivious to everything we are being deprived of. We stick to a religion we don't believe in simply because that’s what are parents taught us, and if we try say any different we are chastised. What about our right to freedom of religion? We are told
