Sex At Dawn 296-306
1. Based on this chapter, the author believes that married men only have 3 options in our society. The first option is to lie about any cheating and work on never getting caught. Since women have a strong intuition, they are able to spot when something amiss in a relationship. If your sticking to your “unspoken argument”, (Sex At Dawn 298) then those habits, it won’t help if lawyer ends up getting involved. Some males can make the mistake by not talking and avoiding the subject, which only worsen the problem. That’s why if your going to cheat you need to lie and not get caught. I really like that quote. Love can be an ideal thing. A lot of people may believe that they love someone, and those thought then leads to believing marriage shouldn’t be too difficult. However, marriage can causes questioning that love you once felt. It opens our eyes to reality and not the dream we envisioned with the person we love. There are some people who are just in love with the idea of being in love and not real love itself. Then may get in over their heads, but marriage can teach how to maintain love if it's really there. 4. Based on what I read, the French believe that an affair is just an offer. Most that walks away don’t really want to, but feel at times that it’s a

The myth that adultery and having sexual intercourse out of wedlock didn’t exist in history was false because as Coontz explains, many political figures had mistresses and it wasn’t unheard of. In addition, we see that marriages were more stable leading up to, and throughout, the 19th century because the man and woman were seen as one; this is because women were property and men controlled their every move so it was hard to have independence. Today we know that marriages can be more problematic because there is more autonomy and fluidity.…

Steinbock’s Limited Application of the Immorality of Adultery At first glance, it seems as though adultery in our culture is mostly regarded as an issue of private matter, it chiefly involves spouses. But on closer inspection it appears that the common consensus (that most hold, not all) on adultery fails to recognize the repercussions of holding such a notion. This is because, as Steinbock argues, the way we view adultery affects the thoughts and feelings on love, marriage, and family (for the purposes of this essay I will not delve too deeply on this point because it is so overarching but rather use this point to raise issue). So, then, it holds that although adultery is a private matter one must not regard it as “morally neutral”.…

The lack of sexual satisfaction in one’s relationship is a leading factor behind cheating. Other main factors include the desire for additional sexual encounters, and the lack of emotional satisfaction.
