Many colleges offer two to four year degree programs in law enforcement, police science, and criminology. If you do decide to go to college, a smart choice to study would be criminology or criminal justice. Some colleges that have caught my attention are Ball State University or Indiana State University because they both have very good criminology programs. Although, there is some training you have to go through that you must pass to become a police officer. Before you can hit the streets and become a police officer you have to go through the police academy. The police academy is basically a school where you learn the proper things to say, the laws, and you do physical training. The typical amount of time spent at the police academy is about one year. During that year you get certified in many things such as first aid, CPR, and much more. Some good qualities to have would be good communication skills, good organization, and good leadership skills. It is important to have good communication skills because it is a job where you are working with others and you need to be able to communicate to help others out. You also have to have good organization skills because you cannot be losing papers and you have to be able to find things and use them quickly. You must also have good leadership skills because it is important to show others the right choices and the wrong choices. To show others to do the right thing you must be a leader by showing others the right thing to do.

These are good qualities to have because they are very steady qualities of a good leader, and you need to be a good leader in order to lead others to the right life
