Comedy has been used to help bring attention to may difficult topics in the past. Comedy works well for this because it helps to lighten the mood and make these topics more accessible to the audience. In our class we have seen this in our last few movies which had topics such as homosexuality, murder, and government/ social hardships. Most movies which truly delve in to these deeper topics come from third cinema and will often times address issues involving social unrest and government oppression. One movie which highlighted the government issues was Y Tu Mama Tambien in this movie we see many different narrative flash backs which talk about the economic and governmental problems that Mexico faced during that time period.
