Walt Disney’s domestic environment is the United States. They operate in the entertainment industry in several ways including theme parks and resorts, media networks, the Walt Disney Studios, Disney consumer products, and the Disney interactive website. One of the major government regulations of the entertainment industry is censorship. This is where material is removed or suppressed from media for reasons such as, obscene language, harmful images, or things that are considered to be objectionable. These regulations are in place to protect children and adult alike from unknowingly or involuntarily watching so seeing things that are deemed indecent. Some companies like the Motion Picture Association of America or MPAA have their own set of regulations and ratings in order to help protect children.
